St. Johns River Clean Up
Volunteers Needed April 5th, including Boat Owners!
Help clean 59 miles of the St. Johns River and surrounding basin. All ages welcome; Scouts, schools, and community groups encouraged to join!
Join us on April 5th as DeLeon Springs and nine other locations come together for the St. Johns River Cleanup, a powerful way to give back to our beautiful waterways in honor of Earth Day! Volunteers will help restore local parks, trails, and riverbanks!
As a thank-you, you’ll receive a DeLeon Springs coupon, native potted plant, a t-shirt, and more.

- 4,245 pounds of trash removed (including tires, cans, and plastic!)
What to Bring:
- Water
- Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen
- Mosquito spray or lotion
- Work gloves & comfortable clothing
- Optional: rakes, shovels, trash grabbers, canoes or boats
The annual cleanup, coordinated by Volusia County’s Environmental Management Division, draws attention to the river’s environmental importance and helps to keep the waterway safe and clean for animals and people who enjoy swimming and water sports.
