As expected, the warm weather last week kicked off the fishing season with the arrival of striped bass, herring, hickory shad and white perch. It has so far been a slow start but encouraging to once again have life in the nations river. As the weather stabilizes so will the fishing. Rain in the forecast late this week will put a pause on the bite but ultimately will encourage more fish to migrate upriver to spawn. Fletchers is scheduled to open on the 27th.
