The Potomac crest yesterday at just over 8ft on the Little Falls gauge bringing with it the usual driftwood and muddy water.  The Fletcher’s crew secured equipment and dock from the rising water but can now rest easy that the river has begun to recede. Catfish and perch are being caught from the shore but those wanting shad or stripers will have to wait until the water clarity improves.  Rowboat rentals should resume at Fletcher’s by Monday but fishing from shore will improve in time for Sunday.  The shad and striper bite will be right back on track once the water clears up.  With the current forecast we should be catching shad well into May.
